The break is here. Actually is began at noon last Thursday. But Monday was the first day that I was off when I am normally working. What do you do on Spring Break? I'll tell you what I do. I drink lots of coffee, pet cats, watch the Paul Finebaum Show, pet cats, take naps, ride around and scout new running courses, pet cats, take clothes to the cleaners, pet cats, and did I mention I pet cats? Oh yeah, and I workout. I do lots of swimming, running, and lifting. Monday morning I slept in because John was out. I went to the pool at 10:30 and swam
2,800 52:18
900 tt 14:10 (200 - 3:06; 500 - 7:49)
700 medium paddles 12:11
1,000 back 22:11
300 medium paddles 5:35
200 Redneck IM 3:52
500 25/25 free/back with small paddles 10:11
total: 6,400 yards = 5,849 meters
That was a pretty solid practice with volume, intensity, and stroke work.
After lunch and a nap with River, I shuffled 3.32 miles. It was warm, and I ran in shorts and a T-shirt. I got ready for Plate City and then the monsoons came back. Will the rain ever go away. Seriously, we must be at some sort of record for rainfall. So I went to Twin Rivers which is what I do when the weather prevents me from working out at home. There I did bench presses thus:
18 X 95
10 X 120
7 X 140
4 X 145
4 X 150
That was three. Not a big three, but three. The swim was big and the numbers on the bench are beginning to be big for me. Not a bad way to start the break. Now, where are those cats?
Thank you, Jesus.
