Pull Day

It is very dark now at 6:00 a.m. When I began to swim Tuesday morning, the little light that trickled into the pool, bounced off the bottom in a way that made it look like a creek bed, sand shaped by flowing water. I was happy, and I felt like swimming. Yesterday's fatigue seems to have awakened me, at least a little. I swam

1,800 42:16 (2:20)
2 X 150 medium paddles r :20
2 X 100 medium paddles r :20
2 X 50 medium paddles   r :20
100 medium paddles
total: 2,400 long course meters

We met school and Tuesday is the day of my Film as Literature class. I love that course. We discussed Sunset Boulevard and watched The Player.

I did not get home until almost 3:00!!!. I was running by 3:30 in the 95 degree heat and only did 5.16 miles. While I was out, I saw and spoke to Fraiser Shipley who was walking on the trail off Claiborne Street. I recognized him from the back. His legs and shoulders looked the same, though a bit thinner, as they did all those years ago.

After rest and nutrition, Plate City was inviting and it was pull day. I did the one-armed pull, the Swim Pull, and pullups. On the pullup, I did

11 with no weight (5, 3, and 3)
5 singles with 16 pounds

On the Swim Pull, I did

28 X 30
18 X 34.4
15 X 37.4
13 X 40.4
10 X 43.4
  8 X 44.9

That all makes one pretty solid day but with the scale back in running, I hope to have more energy in the pool tomorrow. Thank you, Jesus.
