A Strong Practice

Usually I wake up somewhere around 5:00 to 5:45 a.m. Then I get up, put my jammer on, and head to the pool. Thursday morning, however, I woke up at 6:30. I was tired like that.

For some reason, I have an aversion to swimming the big pool after around 7:00. The pool boys start showing up, the sun gets high, and I just am not into it. So getting up at 6:30 meant I would be swimming the little pool. But an elderly couple comes in to the indoor pool at 7:00, so I waited until 9:00 to drive over. When I hit the water, I swam

1,300 28:38 !!! What has happened to me?
  4 X 50 decline 1 to 4
  100 for time 1:33 (1:33)
  150 small paddles
  200 for time 3:15 (1:38)
  200 small paddles
  300 for time 5:01 (1:41)
  250 small paddles
  400 for time 7:10 (1:48)
  300 small paddles
  6 X 25 no breath
  50 easy
total: 3,600 short course yards = 3,290 meters

Now that was a practice fight there; I don't care who you are. It had quantity and quality. My warmup was shockingly slow. But my "for time" swims were pretty good until I got to the 400. Fatigue I guess. But that session made me feel a lot better. Now I feel like I am on track to swim decently at the Heart O' Dixie.

After that, I went home and lounged most of the day. Forrest and I were scheduled to ride at 5:00, so I stayed off the roads. And I was too lazy to go to Plate City. I hung our with CC and read on a book Paul B loaned me. At 5:00, we met up in downtown Money and hit Coleman Road, Waley Road, and McIntyre Road. I finished with 31.68 miles, my longest of the year. Now I feel like maybe I will be able to finish Bikes, Blues[,] & Bayous.
