Slow Start

Finally I had a slow start day, Saturday. I slept in and drank lots of coffee. Yes, I did swim, but not until I drained the coffee pot and did major work on Sunday's sermon. I went to the pool about 11:30 and swam

1,650 30:40 (1:51)
12 X 50 @ 1:16
300 easy with small paddles 5:24
4 X 25 dive start
400 kick with fins
total: 2,650 yards = 2,422 meters

That was a surprising workout. I had only done a few 50s all week so I felt I needed to work some on speed. I was surprised at how difficult that was. The 1:16 interval seemed easy at first, but eventually recovery started falling farther and farther behind. I was also surprised at how tired my muscles got. I an not fit at sprinting right now. I will work on that.

After a nap and a visit by our daughter and grandchildren, I went to Plate City. I did squats, one set of Swim Pulls, some log presses, and some farmer's walks. I really busted out the FWs with

1 X 50 + 0
1 X 50 + 20
1 X 50 + 30
5 X 50 + 50
1 X 50 + 55
1 X 50 + 60 (PR!)

I also lifted the Husafell stone and carried it 20 feet, another PR.

Thank you, Jesus, for a nice day.
