Saturday, I swam first and lifted later. The swim went thusly:
1,500 warm up in 28:05 (1:52)
Then I did the Man-maker set, and as usual I modified it.
500 7:55 (1:34) (this was the change from 400 to 500 @ 9:30)
300 4:39 (1:33)
200 2:58 (1:29)
150 2:15 (1:30)
100 1:27
100 1:29
100 1:29
100 1:26
100 1:28
50 44
50 44
50 46
50 44
50 45
50 45
50 44 (I dropped the 2 25s and added another 50 @ 1:00)
200 small paddles (total for Man-maker = 2,000 yards)
total: 3,700 yards = 3,381 meters.
That was my last really tough practice before the meet next Saturday. I will swim medium long and hard Monday and begin to taper from there.
At Plate City, I laid some new blocks and got the hack squat machine in its permanent place. I did a little bit of everything. Deal lifts, going up to 155 pounds, T-bar rowing for a bunch of sets, curls, shrugs, pull ups, Swim Pulls and lateral raises. Forrest and I were going to ride, but a storm blew in. It was a good day. Thank you, Jesus.
