Not Lazy Tuesday

I did it. I got up early and went to the pool. Waking up to use the bathroom, I checked the time: 3:11. The alarm was set for 3:35. If I go back to bed, I will never get up, I thought. So I started putting on my swim jammer and getting ready to go to the pool. I was in the water at 3:30 but did not start swimming until ten till. Stretching, I was stretching all those minutes. John was still out. I swam alone and managed a pretty strong practice as follows:

brick kick
2,700 57:14
200 tt 3:04
400 medium paddles 7:41
2 X 25 breast
850 back 19:17
25
brick kick
400 medium paddles 7:52
500 25/25 free/back 11:26
total: 5,125 yards = 4,684 meters

That was a pretty good swim practice. I got some quantity, a little bit of quality, some strength work, and some stroke work. The 850 back was the longest backstroke set of my life. Wait a minute. I thought you said that yesterday. I did, and it was true. Tomorrow I will most likely swim 900 and that will be the longest one of my life. And the next day and the next day and the next, well, you get the picture.

Tuesday is one of my short days so I went out for a long run. I did 10.35 miles last week. This time I shuffled for 12.51 miles. Yehaa!

Heck no I wasn't done. It was time now for Plate City Gym. Since I did not lift Monday, I had a twofer to do, both push and pull. I started the push with bench presses doing

16 X 95
10 X 120
  6 X 140
  6 X 140
  3 X 145
  3 X 145

I also did two sets of the log press as 7 X 63 and 8 X 63. The last thing I did for the night was a single set of triceps push downs as 38 X 30. Before I got to that last set, however, I worked on my pulling muscles with the one-armed bent row:

20 X 40
13 X 45
11 X 50
  9 X 55
  7 X 60
  4 X 65

In addition to the rows, I finished that muscle group with some reverse band flys.

Yes, I slept well dozing off with CC on my chest long before bed time. Thank you, Jesus, for a solid, productive, and enjoyable day.
